I attended BIOLA University, a Christian university, believing that God wanted me to be a pastor some day. My major was Bible. Initially, I was a math teacher for eight years with Los Angeles Unified School District. The Lord directed me to be an aerospace engineer for 22 years in the field of research and development of advanced radars, high-tech concepts and missiles. But my heart’s desire was to teach the Word of God and to shepherd God’s church. I often said that I worked in the secular world in order to minister for Christ. So while working in aerospace, the Lord Jesus called me to be an elder at Grace Community Church in Panorama City, California. I was an elder for almost ten years. John MacArthur was and still is the pastor of that church. While I was at Grace Community Church, I had a wide variety of ministry responsibilities ranging from teaching the Word of God, counseling individuals, working with the Logos Bible Institute, and oversight of various other ministries. Before moving to Grace Community, my wife and I were members of the Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles while Dr. J. Vernon McGee was the pastor. We were also on staff at Thru The Bible Radio Network with Dr. J. Vernon McGee.
Over the years I have taught Old and New Testament books, apologetics, doctrine, conducted marriage seminars, and taught about church leadership. Since 2000 I have also been the author and developer of the Bible teaching website NeverThirsty.org. Currently, FoundationsInGrace.org is our church radio ministry.
I have a desire to help you grow in your faith. At Berean Bible Church we are committed to love and sound doctrine. We seek to provide spiritual milk for those who need it, and spiritual meat or solid food so that you may grow spiritually. Both are essential for spiritual growth (Heb. 5:11-14). I am committed to glorifying God and discipleship (Matt. 20:18-20). Discipleship has two parts: evangelism (local and overseas) and verse-by-verse teaching of the Bible so that you can grow spiritually. Normally, I teach book-by-book and topically only occasionally because Paul set us an example of teaching the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27). We are also committed to every believer discovering their spiritual gifts and using them thus fulfilling God’s will.
